SUPER HIP CHICK ;)

Just got an email from my two buddies from the PCT. Erik the black & Bull they made it to Canada yeasterday at 4pm. I cried I was so happy for them, I was sad to that I wasn't by their side and standing at the monument.
I can't lie ,I'm only human and I was a jeoulous for a minute. But that's not a good feeling to have. I changed it to positive thoughts for them and how brave they were through the really bad weather the last few weeks. I'm so proud of these young guys. I will always have such fun memories of all the fun times. They where a big part I got as far as I got. I love you guys and am so very proud.

"Things are not always what they appear, so examine everything carefully. What looks very positive could be negative and what looks negative could in fact be positive. The universe is a strange place and so things don’t always have to go according to your plan to actually be beneficial. This is a time to rely upon the Self, so examine and let go of support systems that no longer serve you. © Stephen Haynes"

But I can suffer a little since these men are suffering everyday. Don't worry my friends I will be extra carefull during each of the workouts not to hurt myself.

As most of you know I had some sort of surgery last week. Which I did. Most of you already know I had a breast agmentation last Febuary. I had some complication that do occour ,and knew I had to have them redone. One of the breast was bottoming out a term when there is no tissue to hold the implant up. Dr. Zandi had to go in and built a pocket to hold it up. The other side had a fold in it. so there was a little dent sticking out. He corrected that by putting in a thicker implant since I have very thin breast tissue . They now look great.
I also had a hereditary trait that my Mom and my aunts have. Where as you get older you upper eyelids get very droopy. Tends to make you look tired when you're not. The surgery is called blepharoplasty. I decided to do it now since I was out of work anyway. My mother had really bad eyesite because of the skin pushing down on her eyelids. She thought about having it done in her 50's but was always afraid of surgery.
Before she past away when she was 70 she was going to finally have it done.
I thought to myself might as well do it now. since it meant I couldn't run anyway and I'm not working.

Before surgery my eyes look good this day many days
the skin would push down on my lash line

Yes, I know this is scarry looking but they will be fine when they heal.

Just a FYI I am not promoting plastic surgery to anyone. It is an individual thing. I am not trying to look young. I know I already look young. I just want to look good for my age which is 42.

I have had great advice from my girlfriends who had breast augmentations. So after taking to them I came to my own opinion. Just a little advise from me. You should first love and be happy with yourself before you have surgery and make sure you do it for yourself.

I know I will get a lot of flack about writing this and putting pictures up. But it's my blog and my friends need to hear it from me and not get the story wrong.

To my young followers remember I did this as an adult 42 years old. Your body changes many times during your life so first love your body and yourself.

The last day on the PCT waiting for a ride out.
I look at this picture and do look sick. Giardia is no fun. I hope to never get it again.

I had Blepharoplasty surgery yesterday and that was no fun. I had part of my upper eyelid removed. My eyelid was pressing down and causing me to have night vision problems. It's a heredity thing on my moms side. It is getting worse as I get older so figured I might as well take care of it now while I'm not working. I really can't see right now everything is blurry. So this is all I will write for now.
Jo Lynn thanks for taking me and Rocky on a walk last night even though I was preety much blind. I can see a bit better today not as blurry as yesterday.
Have a great day everyone.
I will say I do appretiate having my vision there are many people who live in a blur like this everyday. So must not complain it's only temporary.

Do You know who this is???? I will let you know if you guess right ;)

"Change, disruption or obstacles could be the order of the day! There is a reason for each of these occurrences but in general it can be said that the way in which you are doing things, or viewing things, has to change. Very often the universe takes a hand and helps you by clearing away the debris of the old, but be assured that what is right, essential or just plain needed, will remain in place. In all cases be calm in the face of these unexpected events and just know that everything is going to be all right. "

I love my little dog Rocky:). I'm so happy I am home and spending lots of time with him. I won't be going back to work until the middle of October so he is getting spoiled. I have been taking him out for 3 walks/runs a day. I believe owning pet's make us better people.
I added a couple of tree shots taken along the PCT in the Sierras. Trees are so beautiful and amazing.

"Let yourself see what is not apparent, in other words, take a look under the table! It is sometimes highly enlightening when you turn things upside down or look at them from another perspective. All experience, good, bad or indifferent, is strangely good experience as it is only with time that you begin to understand why you had to have that particular experience and what the ultimate purpose was. We’re not in control of everything so, now and then, take a hands-off approach and let the universe have a go.

Good luck to all my friends running Rio Del Lago 100. I can't believe it's raining. Usually this race is really hot. This is the first time in 7 years I won't be out there.
I'm sending positive vibes to all of you.

Access the Power - Cards of Wisdom: "Rash decisions or actions undertaken without forethought could result in a dead-end. Don’t just blindly forge ahead. Re-examine how you have dealt with situations in the past, they may not be the way to deal with things now. Perhaps new thinking, or a new way of doing things, is what is called for now. In spite of everything you will learn from your experience and shake off those blocks or obstacles. Sometimes you need more perspective so stand back and take a second look. © Stephen Haynes"

Crater lake rim, Oregon.
This was one of my favorite places on the PCT. So beautiful. It looks like I'm close to the water, but in reality I'm far away from it.
I'm trying to figure out what to do with my life. Today I chose this wisdom card and it's dead on.
Have a great day.

Access the Power - Cards of Wisdom: "All is evolution, all is cyclical, therefore endings lead to new beginnings. You cannot begin without an end. If you cannot let go of the past then the past constantly recreates itself. Look now to the future and the paths to your goals will again become clear. Obstacles or limitations will be surmounted and lost or forgotten opportunities will again be presented. Success is now within your grasp but realise that to maximise that success new ways, or new methods, could make life so much easier. © Stephen Haynes"

ALL SUFFERING STEMS FROM IGNORANCE, HATRED, AND CRAVING.

Healing requires that you admit the truth about yourself. Is there someone you hate or something you crave? Are you addicted? Recognizing your struggle is the first step toward healing.

These pictures were taking along the PCT in the desert section even though I was suffering ,I thought happy thoughts, and gave thanks to my higher power that I was lucky to be out on the trail.
I hope everyone has a great day no matter what you're doing.
XOXO,
Catra

Dreaming about the PCT.

Last night I had a dream I was on the PCT still. I was with Bull & Erik the Black we were in a really bad storm, I was freezing they had to carry me, because I was so hypothermic. I was actually dying in my dream. That's all I remember. I woke up and wouldn't you know it, I had an email from Erik. He and Bull have 250 more miles to go they skipped ahead. Bull missed his wife so much he went off trail for a week and is now ready to finish.

I really miss those two guys I had so much fun with them. I need to email Erik and let him know about the fires in Big Bear that's where he lives.

Hopefully it's not close to his house.
I had a great run today with Julia. We went to a raw foods restaurant in San Mateo. It was yummy.

Your soul thirves on silence. From deep inside, you recive your most certian guidance and instruction. In silence, you are without distractions. This is why we fear silence-we fear it's power. Enjoy quiet meditation today.

I spent so much timein silence on the PCT. I really went inside myself and learned a lot. It is a good thing to practice a day of silence. I have practice this for many years. You learn a lot doing it.

ASK FOR GUIDANCE IN SEEING THE TRUTH CONCEALED IN YOUR PERSONAL CHALLENGES.
Bless your difficulties and ask to see their hidden guidance. Have the courage to accept what you discover and to initiate whatever action your healing requires.

It was great to see Jo Lynn and Boomer today. He was so happy to see me he even gave me kisses.
We went up Mission Peak. Rocky stayed home he's a lot slower on the hills. He did get to visit Boomer this evening and we all went out for a walk.
I think Rocky was very excited to see Boomer, because he was trying to hump him It was pretty funny.
I finally got to meet Jo Lynn's husband Keith. I was starting to wonder, if she really did have a husband..LOL... He is super nice .and they make an awesome couple.
They are going to Jamacia Friday...Lucky them :) Just when I finally get to see Jo Lynn she now is going away. Have fun Girlie see ya in a week.

TO BE SURE OF THE ROAD, CLOSE YOUR EYES AND WALK IN THE DARK.
SPIRITUALLY CLOSING YOUR EYES PERMITS HEAVEN TO ENACT THE MOST WONDERFUL GUIDANCE IN YOUR LIFE. SAY THE PRAYER, "OPEN A NEW ROAD TO ME TODAY", AND EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED. WHEN IT APPEARS, ACCEPT THE GIFT.

I can't believe how sore I am today. I've been to crossfit 3 times and boy do my muscles ache. Tomorrow I will do 2 crossfit work outs. Trying to get Fit as F**K again ;)
I'm excited, I get to see Jo Lynn tomorrow. We are going to do a run up Mission peak. I'm finally getting back into life and seeing my friends again. I missed all of you' when I was gone, that's for sure. Yeah, I met new friends but they can't compare to my old ones. I love all of you.
As you can see in my picture my hair is different. I've changed the color 3 times since I got back. Poor Julia(my stylist and good friend) . I love it!

Speak or act with, negativity, and pain follows. Speak or act with a pure heart, and happiness follows.
Be mindful of being positive in all you say and do.
Know that each of your thoughts and deeds has
the power to heal you- and those around you-
so watch them closely without judging.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I know I did. Just running & working out.
I'm looking forward to helping crew and maybe pace at Angeles crest 100 this weekend. It's good to give back and help friends. I'm crewing for Mike Palmer who is going for his 10th AC 100.
Looking forward to being around Ultrarunners again ;)

Rocky & Me in Sunol I can't believe the amount of smoke in the air from the "Lick" fire. I was in Sunol and it was so hazy so I decided to just make the pictures black & white.
Rocky sure loves Sunol. We did 6 miles and he got worked.
Rocky moving as fast as he can to catch me. He loves to take his time. It was warm so I let him go at his own little pace today.
Rocky checking out a Bob cat that was following us. That's why I put him back on leash. The Bob cat was huge.
TAHOE CITY PLEASE!
Crazy Chris and me hitching in Tahoe.
We actually got two hitches and took the
Bus into Tahoe City.

Me feeling lucky playing quarter slots.

I hate gambling but I go in with the mindset

I have $20 dollars to play with and lose.

Look everybody I won $85 dollars and stopped.

I'm the luckiest girl :)

Tahoe rim Trail
Not every trip can be perfect. Chris and I set off on Thursday to hike the TRT.
I knew from last years experience that there would be water issues this year.
Our plan was to camp just above mud lake. Last year there was water there. This year it was dry as a bone.
I got there about 35 min. before Crazy. He was out of water and not feeling good. I told him there was no water. I gave a little of mine. I have hike/ run the trail 4 times. I was hoping to hike it in under 5 days. We got up early on Friday and hoped for water at the next point which was 5 miles.
It was a muddy pond. I knew we had two more sections where we had to go 20 miles with no water.
I told Chris if you're not having fun then it wasn't worth it to go on.
The vibe on the trail was just not right so we decided to go back to Tahoe City and relax. We had fun hitchhiking back to Tahoe City and I even went gambling and won $86 dollars..WOO HOO....
It's all about having fun.

Me and Chris, before he got dehydrated(having fun) on the TRT.

Choose one spiritual truth and live fully in harmony with it today. Observe how challenging it is to let your physical life be in concert with your spirtual ideals.
I just love being a girl. It was really hard feeling pretty living on the PCT fpr 99 days. When you take a shower and wash your clothes every 10 days being stinky and dirty just ain't pretty ;) So when I'm off trail I like dressing up and looking pretty.
Well it only lasted 10 days. I'm back on the trail tomorrow going to fastpack the 165 mile Tahoe rim trail with Crazy Chris. Looks like I will be getting dirty again, so much for looking pretty. Freinds you can follow my Tahoe rim trail fastpack at http://www.catrapct.blogspot.com
Fast Jerry will send the updates. If Crazy and I feel good we will try and push it and do it unsupported in 3 days. We'll see how we feel.
So follow along on my little adventure.

Be mindful of being, positive in all you say and do. Know that each of your thoughts and deeds has the power to heal you-and those around you- so watch them closely without judging.

Me and Julia stretching before the WOD at crossfit. It's great to be back at crossfit ready to get Fit as F**k.
Just another easy run in paradise. Saw the doctor today. She said since the knee hasn't bothered me in 5 days not worry about it unless the pain comes back. She thinks it was stress from carrying the heavy pack and I just tweaked it. Since i've been icing it and massaging it , it feels fine. She said just wear the knee wrap when I run or hike. She told me I did the right thing by stopping when I did on the PCT. She even gave me the ok to hike the Tahoe rim trail as long as I keep my pack light. Still feel sick with the giardia but it's just part of the process.
Bridge near little Yosemite in Sunol.
The water is usually in the middle of the boulder next to me. I have never been able to stand in that water on a rock before. It really is a dry year.

I'm a happy girl. Happy to be in Sunol. I can't believe how dry and brown the hills are. I guess after being in Oregon everything looks so brown compaired to the beautiful green forests there.

Went for a slow run in Sunol. Things have changed since I left. They got rid of the wooden outhouse's and build nicer restrooms.

Me flying through Sunol. Really I am ;)
I love this old barn. They use it as a group camp-site
Very happy to be back out in my backyard. I love the Ohlone wilderness.

My first day back on Mission Peak and it was a HOT one.
Hanging with Mikey Mike who is tapering for Angeles Crest 100.
It only seems like yesterday when I was hiking on the PCT through the Angeles crest 100 mile course.
Me doing a little trail maintanance on Mission Peak.
Me sitting in the same spot where the Ohlone woman use to grind seeds and nuts here. Indian grinding stones on the Horse heaven trail.
I really did miss being here. I really love Mission Peak. This mountain has taught me so much about myself.
